TOPIC: thunderbolt of shit strikes my house twice

thunderbolt of shit strikes my house twice 2 years, 2 months ago #88815

a while back, i posted my ps3 got the YLOD (yellow light of death), and it fried my ps. so i got a new one, the slimmer edition. it worked fine, but while playing black ops, after the match ended, it does the usual black loading screen, and the game froze, so i resetted the machine, and now it wont play blu ray discs anymore. my question is is it the laser or the motor itself? i put blu ray movies and games in and obvisouly doesnt work. im so fucking pissed bout it, cuz theres like 8 games coming out in the coming months. as the title of the thread points out, i think you get it, my gut is saying save for a brand new ps3.

Are you positive you're not still on warranty? If so Sony should fix it for you, probably take like 2-3 weeks.

The YLOD is actually fixable but takes time to repair and must be very carefully placing everything back together. I know this cause i repaired my system with the YLOD but i decided to upgrade to the slim for more memory and other issues. The system not playing blue ray? Can the system play non-blue ray movies and games? Either way sounds like the lazer or perhaps a ribbon cable issue. If its the motor i would think nothing would play at all but this is just a guess. I would check to see if the system is still under warranty??
