TOPIC: iheartradio... who uses it?

iheartradio... who uses it? 3 years, 3 months ago #52315

I have a Motorola Droid, and must say that iheartradio is the most frustrating app in the freaking world. The first release of the app totally sucked, and it would only work about half the time. They came out with a new version a few weeks ago, and it seemed to be better, but would still act up every so often. It was working great last week, but then this past Monday it just stopped working. Since then, i have not been able to play Rovers channel even one time. I've tried rebooting the phone and everything. Nothing works. It just says connecting... or buffering... but never starts playing.

On the Android marketplace, iheartradio is getting slammed with complaints about the app not working....everybody is giving it a 1 star rating. Not sure why Clearchannel would put out an app like this if it rarely works. Seems sorta dumb. I emailed their tech support on Tuesday, but never heard back.

Anybody else having similar problems? I thought Rover said it works fine on his iPhone, but it doesn't work for shit on my Droid.

Ya, I emailed Rover and he said his was working on iPhone too. The app for Android is a lot newer, and probably should have never been released... it clearly doesn't work very well... lots of complaints about it. I've deleted it from my phone for now since its been pretty much useless for the past week. Hopefully they will come out with a new release soon.

the iheart app. is basically useless on droid, i have found it easier to just go to the website of the radio station and stream audio w/browser. the rover station seems to work the best, however still cuts out a lot, wmms' channel has never worked.

They seemed to have fixed it for my Droid. I posted my complaint on one of the Droid message forums, and one of the iheartdevelopers posted that they were aware of the problem and rebooted some servers, which seemed to fix it.

Lets hope it remains fixed... mine has been working fine since Monday.

I haven't had any problems with the Rover channel, but I've tried to play a few of the other "Personalities" channels, and some of them don't seem to work.

For me, the app seems to work best with wifi... I have problems getting it to work all the time on 3G.

The iHeart Radio App has long been a source of frustration for me. As I replied in the General Discussion Forum, it seems they are constantly tinkering with the App. The replay of that day's Rover show used to start exactly at 10:00am. Now that replay starts at approximately 1:00pm, give or take a few minutes.

Given the talk about iHeart both in the forums and on-air, I wonder how much of a hit Rover's ratings take because of it. I began listening to Rover in March here in Columbus on 106.7. It took me about two weeks to realize he was on iHeart and since then, I have never listened to him over-the-air. I always listen solely on iHeart no matter whether it is the live stream through the 100.7 channel or replay channel. I would hope Clear Channel can view the amount of listeners from iHeart and relay this information to their personalities and ttations. I know Rover has said he doesn't get ratings from iHeart but I hope he realizes that the number who listens on iHeart may be greater than estimated. Example? The guy above from Alabama who may not have found Rover otherwise.

I'd be interested to hear the number of Columbus Rover fans still listening to him via Web or iHeart.

Just to add a note that i actually think the iHeart Radio app is one of great apps out there. I mainly use it when im on go or on the shitter. Its too bad the ratings don't count for people who use iHeat Radio.

I am from Memphis and have listened since Rover was syndicated here and online after they stopped. For the last six months months I have been listening to the iheart 24 replay because i go to work (where luckily i am allowed to wear head phones all day) usually i have to listen listen to about 3 hours of the previous day before they restart the current day show..... alot of the time iheart will play the same 2 segments 3 times in a row.... it usually doesnt restart the current days show until 1 or 2 pm (CST) this effing sucks ROVER....... as soon as the live show is over the replay should start from the very beginning!!!!! Duji is hot in a weird way and i'd let her lick my ass. Dumb and Charlie are under paid and Charlie is a effing idiot for not teaming up with Alan Cox.... hope choco chuckles wins the Kia!

I have had two 3g iPhones, and 3 droids (motorola droid, htc incredible, and droid x) ... I go through phones like crazy. But, iheartradio ... flaming pile of shit. Didn't work well on either of my iphones or the droids. I have to say it works better on the incredible and the droid x but it still fucks up frequently loosing connection, buffering, etc. I usually listen while im in the shower, working out, or walking the dog and thought the app would be great, but I ended up buying a cheap radio instead.

The best way I found that the app works, shut off your cell service and turn on your wifi then it streams fine but you cant recieve phone calls. If you have your wifi on and your cell service turned on sometimes it hops back and forth between signals and constantly fucks up. But yes this app drives me crazy, I try to listen when I walk my dog usually I want to stomp on my phone because its so frustrating.

I feel your pain with that damn app, great idea but shitty execution. The only time it works great is in Las Vegas because you have 5/5 bars even in the elevators lol.
