TOPIC: HDMI Kaput!

HDMI Kaput! 1 year, 8 months ago #102060

Yo! Just had an LCD TV Question.... Recently, All 3 of the HDMI Inputs on my Sony Bravia went Kuput, Done, Finished... Finito! I've tried several Cables & sources (Inputs via HDMI)to no avail. The Model in question is a Sony Bravia KDL32S5100. All of the other Inputs (Component x2, Tuner, PC, & USB) work fine.
My questions are many:
1. Is this a common problem?
2. Is it repairable?
3. Will a "FIRMWARE Update" via USB work?
4. If a FIRMWARE Update IS recommended... What's the better source? USB via PC or a USB DRIVE?
I've been to Sony's website and looked over the instructions for a Update. I'm just not sure if I should "Pull The Trigger" or not and Install the FIRMWARE. All of the other inputs work fine & I would hate to Ruin my TV (what's left of it) just by installing new Firmware.
Any Help regarding this issue would be greatly appreciated!

I would go into your on screen menu and find a reset all settings button.

Perhaps the channels got disabled. I know on my TV for instance I can turn off the inputs not in use so they don't show up when changing channels.

Other than that.. . if the channel is on on the right HDMI input, are you getting ANYTHING on screen? Flashing??

Firmware is 100% safe to try as long a the TV isn't having issues powering off. You don't want power cut mid firmware flash.
