TOPIC: What's the story with Rover's contract?

What's the story with Rover's contract? 1 year, 10 months ago #99376

When is Rover's contract up? As expected they aren't supposed to talk about it, which means Duji can't help but to let it "slip" that they may be out of a job soon. I could have sworn that she said it was up in October but Rover said something about it being at least through the NFL season.

I would like to believe he has some loyalty to Cleveland. If he were to go back to CBS do they have a mobile app? I live in Columbus so it's the only way I can listen to them.

Word on the street is that Rover and Maxwell will team up to combine for a super power. The information he has been talking about deals with someone at MMS and when Maxwell and Rover team up at another station they will drop the bomb.

Rover isn't going any place unless they offer more cash. He needs to get Duji's broke ass more money and I would guess Charlie more money since he is tired of footing the Europe Vacation bills.

They started at WMMS in May 2008 so I would guess it was either a 4 year deal ('til May 2012), or maybe through the end of 2011. Either way I don't see Rover leaving Cleveland. He may switch stations if someone offers him more money, but I believe he'll stay in town. He's built up a huge audience here, and trying to "take his talents" to other cities hasn't worked out too well for him in the past (i.e. Chicago).

He's one of the top two morning shows in Cleveland (I'm guessing it's a battle between him and Lanigan & Malone on 105.7 for top spot), so there's no reason a station wouldn't hire him. So Duji worrying they'll be out of a job is just her being retarded. The only way they won't be back on the air is if Rover bails on everyone and tries to get into making documentaries like he says he wants to do.

Honestly I'm not sure. I live in Columbus so I have no idea what the stations are up there. I remember Rover saying that CBS was trying to woo him back. I know he hates them but he also clearly hates CC.

In any case I'm sure he will drag out the info as long as possible. As long as I can still listen on my Droid I'm happy. I'm still just curious when exactly he is due up for a new contract.

It won't be until at least March-May of 2012. That's always around the time of year when you start hearing Rover talk about his contract and all of that type of BS. Rover would be stupid to leave Cleveland start over this late in his career. Not to mention when he hasn't done well in other cities (sure some he lost cause of format changes but others that wasn't the case)
