I don't mean tongue-in-cheek bits or Devil's Advocate, but rather when one of the supporting goons on the show deliberately and unconvincingly play dumb (no pun intended) for effect.

This ruse seems intended to generate irate callers or support a show member's on-air persona. The biggest offender is obviously Dieter, and then Duji.

I assumed more callers would mention this like the guy did about that car demo stunt, but that's the first I've heard.

It also doesn't appear to be some type of meta inside joke that Rover is sharing with all the listeners. He really expects us to believe what we hear.

I just wondered if a caller or fan has ever burned them about this.

By "fakemails", I assume you mean the listener e-mails? I don't know the show well enough to know if that's a bit or not.

Rover seems like a guy who would value his professional credibilty and would realize that some of Dieter's asides come off so unbelievable.

I could understand if it was an acknowledged joke, but I remember him on a rant where he said people always ask him if Dieter is for real and if Duji is that dumb to which he responded they are.

I just don't know the show well enough to tell if its like some big gag he thinks he's pulling on the listeners.

But yeah I been listening for years now and the show isnt much fake. Does Deiter get creative with his stories? Probably. I dont doubt he's been in fights in college but I do doubt he went to parties and punched people all the time without taking at least one good ass beating himself.

Do give the guy credit though for his "dare Deiter" skits that he did. I used to love listening to that shit. He truely would do the stupidiest most painful things just to help make a good show!
