I love trying new beers, especially microbrews. Any suggestions for a good beer to try?

Dortmunder/Burning River are my favorite as of now. Trying Tsingtao next unless someone suggests better.

My favorite beers to drink are Blue Moon, Red Strip, and Yuengling ( which is found in PA)

ALSO
looooove Budlight lime and fill the neck with teranchula tequila

Steam Whistle's a pretty good Pilsner if you haven't tried it already.

I don't know if you've ever heard of "Canadian Beer"....but it's pretty good too

I've had the Budlight Lime, but I'm so used to full beers, it tastes like water. Or skunky.

I have tried that PA beer, it seems like a cult classic, and for good reason.

I can't wait for the Nosferatu and *gasp* Christmas Ale. That kicks my ass.

I want to try that Steam Whistle. Where can you get it?

Re:Any good beer suggestions?? 3 years, 11 months ago #36456

I heard sooo many people talking about Christmas Ale and how it is the best thing in the world and then I tried it and I was very disappointed. I did not enjoy it at all actually

Aw, really?? It tastes similar to Burning River, only with a cinnamon kick to it. Its sweeter and full flavored. Yum.

Best part about it is that it has either 8% or 9% alcohol by volume. You can't match that with your normal beers or you'll be under the table (or in a random bed) very fast.

Can't say I am a fan of any of the Great Lakes beer. I have only tried like 3 but I didn't like either so that was enough for me..

O .. I also like Strongbow.. it's a Cider beer but its yum

Yuengling, although classified as a beer is actually considered a gift from God.

Other good lesser knowns: Matt and Phin's(Good Summer Beer), Elephant(again good summer brew), Harpoon(Good Lagers), Shocktop(Kind of Hefe), 12 Dogs of Christmas(10 times better than Great Lakes), Castello(Italian, the single best beer I've ever tasted), Bohmemia(Mexican), anything made by Highland in South Carolina.

Simones in Lakewood, and most Minotti's(most, cause North Olmsted's sucks), have good beer selections and really knowledgable people. Tell them what you like, and that you want something new and they can help.

I'm with you on Great Lakes. Their Grassroots beer is fantastic though. Try that.

If you like Strongbow, you'll like Hornsby. Better flavor, and less cost.

Nice, thanks. Perhaps I've been living in too small of a world. I love Great Lakes. But I will definitely try these suggestions.

Anyone ever go to Edison's in Tremont? Very eclectic beers there, and not a chain like Winking Lizard. Great place to people watch.

Edison's is one of my favorites. That's where I go to try alot of good, and sometime shitty beers. And their patio is fun.

I have an addiction to their popcorn. Beer and salty popcorn = the best.

The Pub in Rocky River has an awesome selection of different beers. It is an English Irish Pub and they have a large menu of English, Belgin, Scottish and other beers. It is a neat place to go.
