TOPIC: The Indians

The Indians 4 years, 3 months ago #16903

Alright, there's a forum about the Cavs and the Browns, so this one is for the Indians. I'm going out on a limb, but I really think the Indians are going all the way this year. Choo is healthy, Blake is gone, things are looking all good this year.

I think they will take the Central easily this year. Chicago was a fluke last year. Detroit just plain sucks. and the Twins can never be good for a whole year. I like the addition of Kerry Wood. He will provide a lot of help in the bullpen. Fausto is going to be good this year as long as he stays injury free. I feel like Lee will do good but will not be as dominate as last year. Laffey is an extremely talented young pitcher. I feel like they are in need of a solid power hitter. Hafner is on the downslide of his career, Garko can never stay consistant. If Martinez can stay healthy he will be solid. All in all i think it is going to be a good season.

Put sizemore in the 4th spot look how many homers he put up and he is quick to. That would be a nice balance. Baby Grady is consistent and leadoff should not be for him.

Sizemore is not a 4th spot hitter that is why he doesnt hit there! He is more of 3 spot, but has to compete with Francisco for that spot too. They will probably put either Victor or Hafner at 4 spot, Garko or Peralta in the 5/6 spot.

You Cleveland fans are funny. Before the football season started everyone was so excited about the Browns, and look what happened. Now the Cavs are looking good right now but wait until the playoffs. Now you really think that the Indians have a shot at the world series? I'm thinking there is a chemical spill of some sort in Cleveland. They might have a shot at the division but not a chance in hell to go all the way. Actually i'm curious about their pre-season odds, probably like 100:1. You guys wanna talk about flukes, just look at Cliff Lee last year. That won't happen again.

I understand wanting your team to win, all too well. I'm a Cubs fan and I always say "this is the year!" The difference between the two teams is, the Cubs actually have a good team and the Indians just got our dead Wood:laugh:

Yea the Cubs are good...in the regular season. When they get to the playoffs its like watching a little league team. I liked the Cubs last year and thought they would go all the way but watching them against the Dodgers just made me realize they are just a group of choke artists.

Now I am not saying that the Indians have not choked *cough cough* but not as bad as the Cubs.

As far as people in Cleveland getting excited about the Browns. If you watch any ESPN shows you should know that the Browns were predicted by A LOT of professionals to be a competitive factor in the AFC North. Thats not just Cleveland fans.

Re:The Indians 4 years, 3 months ago #17093

The Browns were the "sexy" pick at the beginning of the 2008 season. As for the Tribe this year, I'm freaking pumped! Hafner looks be healthier that last year and I think he's going to have a much better year. I'm cautiously optimistic for this season, I'm going to say they wont win the division, but I think they'll get the wild card.

The first spring training game starts in a few hours... I really hope that they can all keep it together this season and finally play like they should have been last year.

I say it every year, but I've got high hopes for the 2009 season.

Re:The Indians 4 years, 2 months ago #17111

I hate to say it, but there is no light at the end of the Browns tunnel for sucking. Maybe by 2044 they'll have a winning record, but I doubt it.

And I love the Cavs, but Cleveland is not a basketball town. Once LeBron leaves, The Q won't be able to sell enough tickets to cover it's electric bill.

Indians baseball is where it's at. I agree Cliff Lee was somewhat of a fluke last year, but I think he'll win 14-15 games. Scott Lewis is going to come out kicking ass and isn't going to stop. Travis Hafner is healthy and will finally prove he's worth the astronomical amount of money we're paying him. Martinez will be healthy. Choo will be on fire as always. I'm telling you this is the year.

And just remember the cubs will never win a world series in this decade again. Boy got to love that curse of the fan. We actually have a better shot of winning it than the cubs.

Cubs might have a good team but when playoff time comes they choke. I know your going to say something about it but we love our tribe in cleveland and you might be right about lee getting those wins, next in line is Fausto for Cy Young. Why do you love bashing our teams???
