In the past Rover said that some feminist group got thier panties in a wad over Deiter saying something about how he would like to pay a girls rent in return for sex whenever he wanted it.He said this after Rover asked him if he would do that, and some feminist group turned it into sex trade slavery....as Rover said, instead of keep talking about it and adding to the fire, they didnt mention anything about it and ignored all the ppl protesting and within a week it went away a new story came along.....the more Rover address's this issue the more it keeps ppl talking about it, if everyone would shutup and ignore it, it will become old news very fast and the gays will jump on the next new imagined discrimination. It is no longer news when ppl dont have anything to say about it, like Rover said you give these ppl an inch they want a mile, like that feminist group wanted apology then that wasnt good enough then they wanted the station to do commercials about sex trade..... its the same with GLAAD, did you notice they not only want Deiter fired they ALSO asked for Rover to do an entire show to talk about how gay teens commit suicie b/c of insensitive remarks....yeah I can see Rovers listeners really being interested in that.....so the smart thing to do....everyone let this quiet down, Dieter do his 1 week suspension and it will go away.

While I'm sure hoping it will blow over is part of it, I think Rover isn't talking about Dieter because if he told the truth then GLAAD would go ape shit again.

Dieter, more than likely, hasn't been suspended. He's just off the air to appease the complaints. Rover's show isn't always real. Shocking, I know. But it's true. Rover probably wrote the letter in question so Dieter could say the usual stupid, homophobic remark. It was all a planned radio bit.

But Rover can't say that. So he's not saying anything at all. The end.

That's actualy a really good point. I never considered that angle.

I'm sure you're absolutely right about that. That's right - I'm certain that Deiter is not really suspended at all; it's just a move to appease. I never heard the actual thing he said, I missed the show, but I can imagine. Another thing you point out is that the whole thing is a radio bit (probably). I'm sure that's the case. I'm also sure that a lot of people would be very surprised to realize just how much of the show is planned, how much of what is said and done that seems to be spontaneous has actually been well planned and rehearsed so it will seem to be spontaneous. I know that tons of what transpires on the show has been planned/written and executed. All morning shows do this. They're pretty good at making stuff sound real, but a lot of times it's easy for me to tell it's just a bit. This show is not a charity venture, it's a commercial, money-making enterprise meant to entice us to listen so we'll hear the advertising.

The more you give in the more you crumble later on. Think about why Al Sharpton is where he is. We need too talk more about it.

Or we are doomed to political correctness.

I hate to break it to you, DaQuix, but 99% of time Rover rips into management it isn't real. You see, as a general rule, people don't like their bosses. When Rover rips into management the little guy listening to the radio at his job is cheering him on because Rover is saying the things that little guy can't tell his boss. That keeps that little guy's radio tuned to WMMS, which makes WMMS's advertisers happy.

When shit gets real, Rover shuts up and toes the line, just like the rest of us.
