Way to go,Dominic.
Maybe the next time you run "Best of" it won't be so grossly Dieter heavy.

This is almost the exact same thing that happened in Columbus, and Rover doesn't hesitate to talk about how retarded it is. Now its the second day without Dieter, its been on the news, the station has made a statement, and Rover still pretends nothing happened.

I called in about an hour ago and asked what was up, all that Dumb would say is "I have no comment."

The more I think about this, the more pissed off I am getting.

If the father had a problem with what Dieter said, he would have taken matters into his own hands. He is a parent who loves his daughter and e-mailed a radio show for advice on how to go about dealing with this. I think it's safe that any parent, tolerant or not, would not know how to handle the news of their child being bisexual or gay.

I never even got to listen to this "best of" segment, but did the daughter even come out to her dad after that? Did she confirm she was bisexual or gay? Or was she just kissing another girl? There's a bit of a difference there.

Anyway, back to my point. If the father was bothered by what Dieter said, he would have taken matters into his own hands. But he didn't. instead, over a year later, GLAAD overhears this and these fucking rainbow colored knights come galloping in on their fucking unicorns thinking they're saving the day and ruining someone else's life (if Dieter gets fired).

Okay. Gotta calm down. I gotta leave for a job interview soon and I can't leave angry.

So in listening to the show throughout the morning, I could catch the subtle way that Rover was dicking with Clear Channel. The extended commercials, the controversial race issue with Marley, the fact that he kept saying he was going to talk about something, but then got so passionately frustrated, he didn't talk about it and went to break. There was a time or two when he instinctively used Dieter's name. We can't fault Rover for using discretion in this matter because it is his empire. When we are faced with things that could really significantly alter not only our reputation, but the lives of others, we have to step back and really exercise good judgments. I don't think that Dieter should suffer disciplinary action, I don't think that the show should be defending the statement, as a gay man and an active advocate for gay and lesbian rights, I don't take what was said in the replay offensive at all, as a matter of fact, why didn't someone note this the day it was originally stated instead of on the playback. What you have here is a shafted homo who is looking for a quick spotlight and is using his egocentric view to get attention. My apologies for people who identify as LGBTQ (by the way, the Q is actually Questioning) to you guys at the show who were audibly off today without your colleague because of something as insufficient as this whole ordeal is. I hope that all works out for you Dieter and that Rover continues to exercise not only good insight, but good judgment as well in the way that he responds. Best of luck guys, I'm still a faithful gay listener.

The comment didn't seem to raise any alarms when he originally said it, so how could they have foreseen a shitstorm of this magnitude?

I have a theory... It's a bit farfetched but hey, you never know...
Anyways, we all pretty much know that most of what goes on with RMG is schtick, grossly exaggerated to make the show more entertaining. What if this is all just another bit, either A. To see how people would react if they thought a core member of the show was going to get 86ed, or B. To see how far they could push the PC crowd before getting a reaction (again, nothing happened when the comment was originally made, could this have been intentionally brought to the attention of GLADD to provoke a reaction?)

Like I said, it's a farfetched theory but Rover and crew have always been known to go to great lengths to make the show more interesting.

Do any of you remember a few months back, Rover making that comment about the transsexual going down on a dude without telling the dude that she is a mtf (male to female) transgender? Rover had said he probably would have done the same thing, and then that woman called to bitch Rover out (who was also a male to female transgender who had surgery and everything done)?

She made a blog post about it and was upset, BUT, she didn't make a public scene out of it. She called the show, they had an entertaining debate about it, and that was that.

It's all in how you handle things. This could have been handled a WHOLE lot better instead of making it a public spectacle.
