I've always thought the Jeffrey segments were funny. Rover and crew always walked that fine line between being funny, and being cruel, when it comes to Jeffrey. Usually Jeffrey rolls with it and is a good sport, but this past week seemed to be a little different. First the bit with them tricking Jeffrey into touch Dizz's hog, and then the whole bit with the Pooperbowl party at Jeffreys house, that resulted in him walking off the show. And if you follow them on twitter at all, everybody, including Rover seemed to pile on Jeffrey and make him think he was having a party on Sunday.

Are they being TOO cruel to the guy? I think they are considering how much material they get out of hime while only paying him $80 a week. People at McDonalds make more than that! Not sure sometimes how Rover lives with himself paying the guy such chump change. I know Rover thinks people have to pay their dues in radio, but as much as they rip on Jeffrey, being paid only $80 a week is the extreme end of "paying your dues".

So is your problem that Jeffrey is ripped on too much, or that Jeffrey isn't paid enough for the amount of ripping he takes?

Jeffrey seems to be a limited gimmick, namely having the rest of the crew provoke hilarious reactions from him; there really isn't much other point to his presence, nor has there ever been as far as I can recall. Therefore I don't think one can be too cruel towards him (barring actual/involuntary torture, etc.) because he kind of has to expect it as part of his job description. If this were a normal employment situation it'd be completely unacceptable, but it is a pretty unique situation and he has a pretty limited role.

As to whether he is paid enough, $80 seems ridiculously low and I have to wonder if that number has some liberties taken.

As for Jeffrey, you have to roll with it and take your lumps. Where I think they have gone to far is discussing his children and their lives. It is one thing to take shots at Jeffrey, it is another thing completely to make fun of his kids, namely Charlie and his chuckleheads.

I agree, Hugh. I get that everyone gets ripped on occasionally, but they do go overboard with Jeffrey. The guy tries to talk or tell a story and every 5 seconds someone has to but in with something about baby food, his kid wearing a dress, diapers, cheating on his wife, hookers, his skidmarks, etc. Let the guy talk for christ sake. Every once in a while at the right time a wise crack is funny, but it's really just a barrage of insults towards him whenever he's on.

The $8 an hour pay is ridiculous. Would it kill Rover to give Jeffrey at least $10 or $12 an hour. If he's only in there 10 hours a week, that's not too much to ask. As someone pointed out, he's probably losing money going on the show since he could be working one of his other job that probably pays more.

The guy obviously isn't all there mentally, but he's just trying his hardest to raise a family of four while working three or four jobs probably 7 days a week. The guy is a more successful family man then anyone on the show. Rover is too scared to start a family, Duji has a test tube baby who has no idea who her father is, Dieter and Charlie don't have any kids, and Dumb does nothing but belittle his wife, threaten divorce, try to jump out of a moving car at 70 mph, etc.

Someone had a great suggestion that Rover should either pay off, or start some kind of fundraiser to help pay off Jeffrey's tuition. The guy will never be able to pay that back himself.

Come on Rover! We know you read these forums. Do something nice for the guy.

And when Rover gives him free theater tickes Jeffrey tweets girls on twitter to go out to see a movie /w him instead of taking his wife. I think Rover had a hand in starting all this BS /w Jeffrey's wife when he kept egging him on to motorboat the hook up girl. Now it's getting out of hand and Jeffrey is real close to cheating on his wife. So no I dont think he deserves more money. Best thing for that guy would be for him to be kicked off that show, then things /w other women would stop and he would learn to be content /w his family again. He doesnt even realize I dont think that the attention girls give him is basically them making fun of him, it goes right over his head, he really thinks they want to hook up /w him.

Insulting each other is great, that's the fun in this am show, but the wife and kids should be off limits, you don't f@#$ with ragging them will trickle thru the school till the kids will be harassed by the other kids about "all the stuff rover and his minions say on the radio" You all are bullying the wife and kids

It's scripted like everything else on the show. But I will say the joke is old, they managed to kill it like every other funny thing. Rover or Dieter messing with him is fine, I love when Dieter tricks him into giving away the endings of movies. But the other tools bring nothing to the table period.
